Second grade celebrated our presidents during the month of February with the “Mystery President.” The students guessed the President while it was being printed on a 3D printer and learned facts about each one. Correct student guesses went into a drawing for the presidential bust.

Congratulations to the 2024-25 National Honor Society members! After their induction ceremony, members enjoyed a tour of the Oklahoma Capitol and were recognized in the House of Representatives. Thank you Representative Mike Dobrinski for hosting them! Afterwards, they had a fun time at Main Event.










Starting tomorrow, February 25th, Mr. Regier has uplifted the shorts policy (original date 3/1/25) to celebrate the warm weather this week. Students may wear shorts the remainder of the year! 🩳
Pre-K through 2nd graders have been voting on more books in the Redbud Read Aloud Challenge. Our star listeners in Kindergarten were Rekker Wray and River Turner and in 1st grade, it was Natallia Rino and Stetson Johnson! We're getting close to naming a champion-- stay tuned!!


Our second graders make history come alive with their “Bobblehead Biographies!" The students improved their skills in: •Reading comprehension •Summarizing + drawing inferences •Informational writing •Research •Oral presentation Their presentations were awesome! Great job, students!👏🏻📚🩵🐾










NWTC-Alva hosted the District SkillsUSA Contest for Automotive Technology earlier this month. Okeene High School Senior, Luke Sutton, competed and placed 4th in the District wide competition. Congratulations, Luke! 🚗⛓️👏

Mrs. Penner has extended the deadline for senior tributes in the yearbook to Friday, February 28th for any senior parents wishing to order.

Okeene Public Schools will resume as normal Thursday, February 20th!

Okeene Public Schools will make-up school missed today (2-19-25) due to inclement weather on Friday, March 7th.

Okeene High School was set to host Thursday sub-site games for the OSSAA Regional Basketball Tournament. Due to inclement weather, games have been postponed to start on Friday. The afternoon games will start at 1:00pm. Evening session games will start at 6:00pm.



Due to the extreme temperatures and road conditions, Okeene Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, February 19th. This will be a Snow Day to be made up on a date yet to be determined. We appreciate your patience with weather closures and look forward to seeing students again on Thursday if at all possible. ❄️

Today from 1:00-4:00pm, any Jr/Sr High students who may have questions or need extra direction on their virtual day assignments may join in a Google Meet. The times are listed below for designated teachers. Google Meet links can be found in the teacher's Google Classroom.

Several Whippets competed in the 8-Man State Powerlifting Meet at Shawnee. Our athletes showcased their abilities in deadlift, bench, and squat.
