Today was our Redbud Read-Aloud Challenge Kickoff! The winner of the first round was "Pop Goes the Nursery Rhyme" by Betsy Bird. Prek through 2nd grade visited the library and Mrs. Feely and Mrs. Benham read the first 2 books. Redbud Read-Aloud Award is a program for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students in Oklahoma consisting of 16 books paired in a bracket style voting match-up. Sophia Gifford is holding our winner and Stetson Johnson is holding "Mary Had a Little Jam" by Tammi Sauer.
Gym Rats starts back up, Tuesday, January 6th at 6:30am. Gym Rats are planning to perform at one of the home basketball game halftimes, so be sure to send your 3rd-6th grade kids on Tuesday and Thursday mornings!

The Okeene Invitational Basketball Tournament starts this week! Okeene Lady Whippets play at 7:00pm on January 8th followed by the Whippets at 8:20pm.

Kindergarten spread some Christmas cheer to the residents at the nursing home yesterday.
Okeene Speech has had an AMAZING week! 🎉
First up, they competed in the Crescent tournament, and did NOT disappoint! Caden, Josephine, Harley, and Max dominated in 7 events, placing in the top two in every single one and took home another Sweepstakes Trophy!🏅Here’s how they did:
Caden: 1st in DI, 2nd in OO, 2nd in DD
Joseline: 1st in Mono, 2nd in DD
Harley: 1st in HI, 2nd in HD
Max: 2nd in HI, 2nd in DD
Then on Friday, they wrapped up the week with a Christmas Extravaganza featuring our band students. It was an absolute blast – hilarious, festive, and full of holiday cheer!🎄🎶

English II students wrapped up the semester with sweet argument unit! They brainstormed creative gingerbread house ideas, wrote persuasive advertisements arguing why their gingerbread house was the best on the market, and then brought those ideas to life by building their designs.

There will be NO GYM RATS this week (12/16 or 12/18)! It will resume on January 6th. If you would like your child to participate in the half-time showcase in January, please make plans to have them at Gym Rats on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:30am.
