Okeene Public Schools Cell Phone Policy 🔹 Cell phones may only be stored in student vehicles or cell cubbies. Students are not allowed to carry their phone on their person from “bell to bell.” 🔹 More focus, less distraction – This policy helps improve engagement and social interaction. This week, the Oklahoma State Department of Education sent an email to parents containing sharp criticisms of public schools, administrators, and the way Child Nutrition Programs are managed and operated. We would like to take a moment to share a clear and factual picture of how we manage these very important areas at Okeene Public Schools.

We would like to inform you that the Big 3 livestock judging event will be held next week. Those interested in attending should reach out to Mr. Riffel. The event is open to members of Okeene 4-H and FFA. It will take place over three days, next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with daily departures and returns. Please note that participants will need to bring funds for lunch and breakfast each day.

The beginning of school is just around the corner, and it’s time for our Junior High and High School Whippets to enroll for the 2025-2026 school year. Please only come to enroll at your designated time per the schedule below.

All parents and players are invited to a Meet & Greet at 6pm in the Indoor Facility on Friday! Come get to know our new Fastpitch Softball coach, Mark Boyd. We're excited to have him on board as an Okeene Whippet for the upcoming school year! 🥎

OSSAA DEAD WEEK: June 28th – July 6th The mandatory OSSAA summer "Dead Period" will begin this Saturday, June 28th and extend through Sunday, July 6th. During this time, student-athletes cannot participate in school athletic activities. Secondary-level students enrolled or pre-enrolled students may not use any OPS athletic facilities in connection with any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA. Coaches, assistant coaches, and sponsors may not have any contact with athletes in any athletic activity governed by the OSSAA for the purpose of coaching, training or instructing. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our athletes have put in so far this summer. Take this time to rest and enjoy Independence Day!

Big Blue Baseball/Softball Camp 2025: We had a great three days of camp, full of learning about the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Our campers did a great job of learning and listening. Today we had our competition portion of camp. Congrats to our 6 champions and all campers who attended!
