Congratulations to Caden Reames and Alaina Chasteen. They competed in the Red Carpet Honor Band on Saturday.
Alaina managed to get 1st chair 7th grade clarinet in her very first Honor Band competition.
Caden managed to get 1st chair High School clarinet in his final Red Carpet Audition of his career. Caden also got a qualifying score to move into the 2nd round of the VERY staunch OKMEA All-State Auditions. This audition takes place on Saturday December 6th. Caden will have to take on the best Clarinets that Oklahoma has to offer. This includes students from Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, Norman, etc.
Awesome job to these two!

The Veteran’s Assembly will be held in the High School Auditorium on Tuesday, November 11th at 11:00am. The guest speaker will be First Lieutenant Julie Harris. The 7th-12th grade choir and 3/4th grade music classes will perform. The Patriot’s Pen essay contest winner will also present their winning essay.

Congratulations to Jayce Schultz — Miss Northwestern’s Teen 1st Runner-Up and $1,250 scholarship winner! 🎉 She represented Okeene High School with poise and confidence.
We also want to recognize Okeene alum Kaylynn Aldrich, who competed for Miss Northwestern and earned 2nd Runner-Up. Jayce was able to look up to and learn from Kaylynn, and it was inspiring to see both of these amazing young women shine on the same stage!

Congratulations to All-State Band member Caden Reames. This year's field of Clarinets were fierce, and extremely well prepared. Caden finished 2nd overall and qualified for the OSSBDA All-State Honor Band.
Caden will also be preparing for All-State cast With the wonderful One-Act on Tuesday. Additionally, Caden will try his best to qualify to the 2nd Round Auditions for the elusive OKMEA All-State Honor Band on Saturday November 8th!! What a tremendous workload, and the personification of what a Whippet represents!

Growing knowledge — and trees! 🌿 A huge thank-you to Alvin Rauh for donating trees for our Biology II students to plant south of the high school this morning. Brownie even decided to lend a "paw." Their class will be planting more trees out at the sports complex later this semester.
