Coach Heckart's 7th grade Tech-Ed class wants to share what they've been up to so far this semester:
🚀Built rockets and did the Wright Brothers airplane challenge. For this, they launched the rockets at the Sports Complex and they reached the height of 300 feet.
🛩️An Airplane challenge, which took place in the Elementary gym. The planes flew in a circle at about waist high.
🏎️Built Co2 Cars out of balsa wood. They learned how to use woodworking tools to cut and sand the cars.

If you can’t escape it, embrace it! 6️⃣7️⃣ 2nd Grade had a great day celebrating the 67th day of school! Students read nonfiction passages about 1967, learned fun facts about the year, predicted what life would be like in 67 years, worked math equations, and listened to music from 1967.

🦃 Thanksgiving Feast in First Grade! 🥧

For the past few weeks, our first graders have been learning all about the First Thanksgiving—how the Pilgrims and Native Americans came together, shared a meal, and helped one another through that first year. Today, they brought that spirit of community into the classroom. The feast was filled with delicious food, big smiles, and lots of excitement. Okeene is so thankful for our amazing students, supportive families, and the memories we get to make together. 💛

Happy Thanksgiving from our First Grade family to yours! 🍂🧡

Our Jr/Sr High students had a fantastic evening in OKC last night! They kicked things off with a delicious meal at Hideaway Pizza and Panda Express before heading to the Civic Center to watch Elf the Musical. The show was funny, lighthearted, and filled with great music—the flying sleigh was truly amazing!

“Dinner and a show” was definitely a hit! Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible and such a memorable success for our students.

Science in Action!🔬 Our students explored how mass and height affect potential and kinetic energy in Coach Brickman's class! Using stacked textbooks and a Hot Wheels track, they put their learning to the test with hands on experimentation and problem solving. Nothing beats watching concepts come to life through real world activities! 🚗💨

Mrs. Long's Culinary students have been making items from restaurants they created. Last week, students made hand shaken ice cream for their root beer floats from Korey Turnham's restaurant "K-Bear’s Burger House" and enjoyed smoked chicken from Ethan Milligan's restaurant, "Mill's Steak House." Today, Ace Long made a giant pretzel with cheese sauce from his restaurant "Ace of Plates" while Ben Cheap provided dessert; homemade vanilla ice cream and brownie sundae from “Ben’s BBQ."
