Congratulations to Jayce Schultz — Miss Northwestern’s Teen 1st Runner-Up and $1,250 scholarship winner! 🎉 She represented Okeene High School with poise and confidence.
We also want to recognize Okeene alum Kaylynn Aldrich, who competed for Miss Northwestern and earned 2nd Runner-Up. Jayce was able to look up to and learn from Kaylynn, and it was inspiring to see both of these amazing young women shine on the same stage!

Congratulations to All-State Band member Caden Reames. This year's field of Clarinets were fierce, and extremely well prepared. Caden finished 2nd overall and qualified for the OSSBDA All-State Honor Band.
Caden will also be preparing for All-State cast With the wonderful One-Act on Tuesday. Additionally, Caden will try his best to qualify to the 2nd Round Auditions for the elusive OKMEA All-State Honor Band on Saturday November 8th!! What a tremendous workload, and the personification of what a Whippet represents!

Growing knowledge — and trees! 🌿 A huge thank-you to Alvin Rauh for donating trees for our Biology II students to plant south of the high school this morning. Brownie even decided to lend a "paw." Their class will be planting more trees out at the sports complex later this semester.

84th Annual Whea-Esta Pageant November 15, 2025 High School Auditorium Admission: FREE – Everyone’s invited! The next Whea-Esta Queen is about to be crowned! There will be performances by our talented Kindergarten–4th grade dancers, presentation of the Wheat Awards, and live music from Gracie Allen! This year’s pageant features 12 amazing Okeene High School contestants.

Our Speech department's STATE qualifying ONE ACT cast will perform one more showing of their play, The Diviners, this Sunday night at 7pm in the Auditorium. Admission is by donation. If you haven't had a chance to see the show, make sure to come watch and support them before they head to the state meet next Tuesday!

We’re so proud of our elementary students who were chronically present during the first 9 weeks of school. These students had no absences and fewer than 2 tardies! 🎉 Their commitment to showing up every day and being ready to learn makes such a difference. They are setting a great example and showing that every day counts!

Several of our senior boys are attending Say Yes to FCS Education Day at Oklahoma State University today! This day is open to current juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in Family & Consumer Sciences Education in public schools or as an FCS county Extension educator. Students will tour the facilities, learn about the application process, and gain information on funding for college. OSU is currently the only school in the state that offers this experience.

Rockets were soaring again, but this time, with our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. 🚀 Students designed and built their own rockets using just straws, tape, and imagination. Then they launched them using air pressure and watched them soar! 🌟 Thank you to Mrs. Hutchinson for always having fun and engaging STEM activities for our elementary classes.
