Rockets were soaring again, but this time, with our Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. 🚀 Students designed and built their own rockets using just straws, tape, and imagination. Then they launched them using air pressure and watched them soar! 🌟 Thank you to Mrs. Hutchinson for always having fun and engaging STEM activities for our elementary classes.

Per the Okeene Elementary School handbook, students will not be allowed to wear shorts or flip flops (any open-toed shoes) from November 1st through March 1st. Please plan for this dress code change happening next week!

FCS Students were in the kitchen yesterday making chicken alfredo. Chef Tracy, sous chef Ava, manager Ethan and Dishwasher Ace were making a recipe from Tracy’s restaurant La Cucina Italiana di Tracy. Each culinary student had to create a restaurant including the name, menu, recipes, floor plan, vision board and choose their equipment. They are now choosing one item from their menu to make in class.

The Pumpkin Book Reports have returned to second grade! 🎃📚
In addition to decorating their pumpkin, students wrote about the story they read and then decorated it like the character from their book.
Thanks to our third graders for judging our pumpkins and picking the top three.

Congratulations to these outstanding athletes on earning their All-State jackets! 🏆
Each of them was a State Champion in their event at last spring’s State Track Meet, which automatically qualified them for this incredible honor. This is a tremendous achievement, and we couldn’t be more excited for them! 🎉

Congratulations to all of our girls on placing 5th at state! Baylea Robinson was our top finisher placing 16th. Lola Pheatt wasn’t far behind placing 22nd. We’re so proud of all of our athletes for their determination and commitment to cross country!

Our Cross Country team will be leaving earlier than planned due to their running time being moved up. Due to weather, our girls will now be running at 10:30am at North Rock Creek in Shawnee. Please help line Main Street to send them off and wish them luck at 7:15am!
