Our Okeene Grade School Basketball Tournament starts this week. Two of our teams start off on Monday! Girls will play at 5:40pm and the boys at 6:30pm! ⛹🏼🏀⛹🏻♀️

Finley Krause (3rd Grade) and Raylee Fisher (4th Grade) both placed 1st Place🥇in their respective grades in the Blaine County District Conservation Poster Contest. They both advanced to the Area contest, but didn’t place. Congratulations, artists! 👩🎨🎨👩🎨

Power has been restored to a majority of the school, so we WILL have class tomorrow, Friday, November 1st. Halloween and Red Ribbon activities will also resume as previously scheduled.

Elementary is wearing RED for Red Ribbon Week today while the JH/HS are having Career Day. Can you tell the favorite team on the playground? ❤️ Mr. Feely also had some look alikes. They even remembered the sunglasses on their heads! 😎
Mrs. Jinkens was chosen as the Elementary Teacher of the month for September. She teaches 2nd grade. She was also chosen as the overall Merrifield Teacher of the Month for September. She received a $100 gift certificate to spend in their store.
Ms. Hutchison was chosen as the Junior/Senior High Teacher of the Month for September. She teaches math, coaches, and exemplifies many great qualities that help enable her students and athletes to be the best they can be. This is her first year at Okeene Public Schools.

The football game is Thursday, October 31st @ 7pm this week. Since it's Halloween, our student section will be wearing their costumes! 🎃👻
Red Ribbon Week kicks off this week in both the Elementary and JH/HS. In addition-- we will have a pep assembly for the football game on Thursday @ 2:50 in the old gym. Then it's Senior Night at the game. Friday, the elementary classes will trick-or-treat at businesses downtown.
XC had Regionals today. Diego placed 4th and qualified for State. Lola got 6th and also qualified. Our Girls team received 6th, which was one spot away from qualifying. Great work, Whippets! 🩵🐾
Bedlam Food Drive starts next week in the Elementary school. The food will all be donated to our local food pantry!
Reminder that school will be released tomorrow, October 25th, at 2:00PM. Busses will run at that time.

Okeene Public Schools will dismiss school and run busses at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 25th. This is to allow district teachers, support staff, administrators, along with band and cheer members ample time to travel to Boise City for the scheduled 7:00 PM district football game between Boise City and Okeene.
Elementary awards assembly is tomorrow, Friday Oct. 18th at 8:15am in the auditorium. It will also be broadcast live on okeenewhippets.tv
