Kindergarten earned a compliment party for good behavior. They chose a STEM activity with Mrs. Hutchinson and ozobots! We have some future coders in our elementary! 🤖
Okeene PRE-K Pre-Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is Thursday, April 18th from 12-4 in the PRE-K classroom. Please bring your child's birth certificate, social security card, and shot record. Child must turn 4 before September 1st.

Our Seniors this year are: Brody Jinkens, Will Karbs, Kyle Lewis, Reiley Luckie, and Bryer Roberts.
The Okeene Promenade will start at 6:30pm tonight behind The Corner for those that wish to attend.
Mrs. Krause's 2nd graders painted rocks and placed them on Rocko the Rock Snake at First National Bank.
3rd grade had the wonderful opportunity to learn all about pioneer life at the Cherokee Strip Museum. We studied in the school house, did chores, ground corn, carried water, and learned about the Land Run!
We will be conducting an intruder drill today. Students will be out of the building at some point, but there is no need to be alarmed, as this is just a drill.
The Finals of the Redbud Read-Aloud Challenge were held on Tuesday, April 2nd! And the winner is.....Puppy Bus by Drew Brockington! Thank you to the Okeene Public Library and Mrs. Henri Blehm and our PreK through 2nd grade teachers for a successful reading challenge! Mrs. Feely loved the "March Madness" of reading!

The Okeene Junior High track meet starts at 10:30 this morning at the track! Running events start at 11:00am.
The Class of 2025, Coach Kahn, Mrs. Hursh, Mr. Hursh, and a few other volunteers spent their Saturday afternoon cleaning up trash from the highways surrounding Okeene. Thank you to all of the students that showed up and to The Corner for providing us with this great community serice project.

Wow OYE 2024 has came to a close! Okeene was well represented by FFA and 4H members! We are so proud of the their accomplishments and the efforts they put forth with these projects. Congratulations to Kyle Lewis receiving 3rd overall York and making the sale. Congratulations to Jayce Schultz with winning the Brahman Breed, Grand American, and winning two $500.00 scholarships. Congratulations to the Junior Ag Mechanics Boys on their trailer. They won 5th overall in their divisions. Finally, congratulations to Reiley Luckie on receiving a $5,000.00 scholarship.

Today's baseball game with Coyle has been cancelled due to weather.
The track meet tomorrow in Fairview has been postponed.
Day 5: Started the day out at the Washington Monument. Our tour guide had our tickets ready and we didn't wait very long in line. What a view of the city from 500 feet above ground level. Our group then moved to the National Archives were we got to see the Magna Carta (The Great Charter), The Declaration of Independence, the US Consitution, and the Bill of Rights. These are the most foundational documents of our republic. What a great experience. Before flying home, we also visited the Library of Congress. The beauty in the architecture is second to none. We could view the reading room and Thomas Jefferson's personal library which was sold the US government to replace the collection that was burned by the British in 1812.
